The Choir

The Choir 2009

The Choir at St Swithuns

St Swithun’s has a choral tradition going back many years, and now has one of the best church choirs in the diocese. It is made up of about a dozen young people and 15 - 20 adult members.

The role of the choir is to lead the people in their regular worship of God at church. The choir at St Swithun’s also plays an important part in special festivals and celebrations during the church’s year. We recently sang evensong at Chichester Cathedral and made a CD of Easter music.

The PCC employs a professional Director of Music on a part-time basis to train the choir, conduct, and to play the organ. He is supported by an Assistant Director of Music who recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music.

The Adult Choir currently has a small number vacancies for singers with some experience and musical ability.
